About East Lynn Farmers' Market

The East Lynn Farmers' Market was started last year as one of Toronto's four new certified MyMarket markets. That means we feature only real farmers selling their own produce. One peek at potato and strawberry farmer Gary Godelie's hands and you will know that's true.

We are run jointly by Farmers' Markets Ontario and the Danforth East Community Association. Along with our market manager, die-hard volunteers -- dubbed the "Farmerlicious Femmes"-- work hard each week to set up the market, welcome shoppers, and run community events including singalongs, concerts and chef demonstrations.

We also feed our farmers! That's right -- each week a community member arrives with a simmering pot of Thai green curry or spaghetti Bolognese to fill the farmers' up before they make the long drive through city traffic back to their homes. We do it because we believe in supporting local food for community, environmental and health reasons. We like to feed the people who feed us.
